About Me
My name is Suzanne O’Hara (they/them). I am currently a fourth year Ph.D. Candidate at Wesleyan University. My advisor is Chris Rasmussen.
My current research interest lie in algebraic geometry and number theory. I am currently exploring properties of heavenly curves defined over number fields of odd degree.
I earned my B.A. in Mathematics at Skidmore College. When I’m not doing math, I enjoy all things fiber arts including knitting, crochet, and spinning yarn. Take a look at some of my recent projects! I’m also a huge fan of the game SET, and will play a game whenever the opportunity arises.
Currently, I’m reading Advanced Topics in the Arithmetic of Elliptic Curves by Joseph H. Silverman.
You can check the most updated version of my CV here. (January 2025)
Papers
Equitable Choosability of Prism Graphs (with Kirsten Hogenson and Daniel Johnston), Discussiones Mathematicae Graph Theory (2025) 311-330. arxiv
Teaching
I am not teaching during the 2025 Spring semester.
While at Wesleyan, I have taught two sections of Elements of Calculus I. When I’m not teaching, I work as a Teaching Assistant for undergraduate courses. I’ve also been a mentor in Wesleyan’s Directed Reading Program.
